Leica Geosystems releases new Reflectorless PowerTracker and Dual PowerBox Solution for its RedLine Series

(Heerbrugg, 28 April 2009) Leica RedLine is Leica Geosystems’ complete and versatile solution for all construction positioning needs. This universal solution consists of a total station, a GNSS antenna and a receiver all using the same software interface. With the introduction of reflectorless capabilities on the Leica PowerTracker and the unique Dual PowerBox solution, the Leica RedLine is now equipped with new features to further increase productivity.

Leica PowerTracker – Now up to 250 meters without reflector
The Leica PowerTracker is a highly accurate robotic tracking sensor. From stakeout to machine control to as-built verification, the Leica PowerTracker is the ideal sensor for the construction site, increasing jobsite productivity while being as easy to handle as a rotating laser. To further increase the versatility of the Leica PowerTracker it is now possible to measure to any surface without the need for a reflector to a range of 250 meters making the PowerTracker the perfect tool for any construction site position task.




Leica PowerBox - easy and flexible site positioning in harshest environments
The PowerBox is designed for the toughest machine control applications, where high accurate and reliable GNSS positions are required on the machine. With the new “Dual PowerBox” feature, two PowerBoxes are connected together providing position and heading information in a cost effective package for all machine control systems.



Common and easy-to-use software for RedLine sensors
GeoPad is a versatile field software designed to meet all on-site measurement requirements using handheld Windows® enabled devices. GeoPad Construction key features include measuring on-site positions, staking out simple and complex designs, as-built verification of all construction works and setting-up GPS base stations and total stations for machine control.

With GeoConstruction it is possible to use a single software package to prepare design data for all existing machine control and measurement sensor fleets. It is easy-to-learn and compatible with any type of design model such as alignments, cross-sections, 3D stringlines or digital terrain models. The software also supports import and export to 3rd party products.

Leica TM30 High Precision Sensor for Monitoring Applications

0.5” angle accuracy – 0.6 mm distance accuracy

The Leica TM30 offers accurate angle measurements of 0.5” or 1” to meet highest standards in all monitoring applications. Distances can now be measured with Leica Geosystems’ proven PinPoint EDM Technology with an unprecedented precision of 0.6 mm + 1 ppm on prisms. On natural surfaces a high accuracy of 2 mm + 2 ppm is achieved.

Automatic prism detection up to 3,000 meters with millimeter accuracy
Leica SmartEye Vision technology integrates three new functionalities. First, prisms are automatically detected within a range of up to 3,000 meters with millimeter accuracy allowing highest flexibility of instrument placement. Second, the TargetView functionality narrows the field-of-view when using multiple prisms close together. The correct prisms are detected without interference from surrounding prisms. Finally, TargetCapture technology stores the telescope camera image as documentation of any measured point.

The Leica TM30 is designed to withstand the roughest use in the most severe environments for 24/7 operation. The TM30 operates for extremely long intervals without suffering from wear and tear. The long service interval, low maintenance costs and continuous operation ensure maximum productivity.
