Precise 3D Dozer Grading Solution

Leica presents SP Technology – The fastest, most precise dozer grading solution

One small step to install, one giant leap for the contractors’ productivity. Leica releases its brand new technology for bulldozers revolutionizing the way contractors move dirt and fine-grade. The innovative SP technology opens new opportunities for dozers, combining ease-of-use, unrivalled flexibility, and the highest precision at the fastest speeds available in the market. Contractors can now boost their productivity and performance even more while benefiting from new ways to use existing equipment.

Bringing faster results SP technology provides improved hydraulic control that allows faster grading with outstanding smoothness and precision at high speeds, dramatically increasing machine utilization and productivity. Bulldozers can now take on even more fine grading jobs, completing work with less heavy equipment on site and helping contractors to finish their projects ahead of schedule and under budget.

High precision attainable at higher speeds
By using inertial guidance with the most responsive hydraulic control on the market, GPS performance is significantly enhanced. Machines equipped with SP technology reduce the need for rework and increase machine uptime during poor GPS/GLONASS coverage or temporary interruptions of correction signals. This allows for consistent and precise grading even under the most difficult conditions.

Increased value of existing hardware
SP technology is an available upgrade or option to the Leica PowerGrade platform. Along with the unique PowerSnap concept, which allows easy and quick exchange of machine control panels, customers have unrivaled flexibility and speed. Contractors can simply upgrade from the 2D panel to a 3D panel as the job demands or easily move panels between sites rather than losing time and money transporting machines. The cable-free snap-on/snap-off system is easy and convenient for operators, helping them work more efficiently, and now with SP technology this work is faster than ever before starting with the very first inch.

No learning curve
All dozers equipped with Leica PowerGrade and GPS can be easily updated to get the full benefit of the unique SP technology. No additional complexity is added compared to a regular control system in regards to installation or operator usage. A simple sensor swap, upgrade of software, and recalibration of the machine and SP technology is ready to go.

Leica RoadRunner, RoadRunner Rail, RoadRunner Tunnel, On-Board Apps

Take the complete design for all types of alignments Road, Rail, Tunnels, Pipelines Canals, Runways or Earthworks into the field to ensure that correct information can be set out or checked as required. These apps use the design strings to calculate on the fly the setout information enabling the user to select any chainage on any string, or combination of strings to do the setout. Strings, Slopes, Crowns, Layers, Super-elevations, Cants, Overbreaks, and Underbreaks can all be handled with ease.

The design strings can originate from virtually any design package MXGenio and Inroads are supported as well as various LandXML and DXF formats. For those who prepare and check the data a simple design to field workflow has been established to convert files for on board use (12d and CivilCad both have direct RoadRunner exports available).

The RoadRunner series of Apps handles complete 3d design data, this includes the complete vertical and horizontal alignment geometry, the app does NOT convert horizontal and vertical curves into a series of straights but uses the actual instantious position on the design for all its calculations

These RoadRunner Apps sit on the System 1200 and Viva, GPS and Total Station. For more information please email info@globalsurvey.co.nz

Leica Zeno

Leica complete new Leica Zeno GIS products within the Leica Viva family targeting the data collection market is available from now on. The revolutionary Leica Zeno GIS offers professionals and newcomers around the globe the most multi-functional and easiest GNSS/GIS solution with superior performance. Leica Zeno GIS provides a one-click automated workflow between the field and office.

With the new products of the Leica Zeno GIS series, it has never been so easy to manage and maintain assets, inspect infrastructure, respond to emergencies, ensure public safety, explore natural resources and conduct as-built and incident mapping with ease. Leicas outstanding survey technology is now brought to the GIS market.
Rugged GNSS/GIS handhelds with productive field softwareThe Leica Zeno 10 provides a color graphic display in portrait format and a numeric keypad. Alternatively users have the choice to purchase the larger Leica Zeno 15 with a full QWERTY keyboard and a display in landscape format. Both GNSS/GIS devices support:
1. First fully rugged GNSS/GIS handheld working in the most demanding environments
2. Dual-constellation (GPS/GLONASS) and SBAS tracking
3. Zeno Field software based on an OEM version of the popular ESRI ArcPad™ 8 software enhanced with GNSS functionality
4. An integrated digital camera linking photos to feature locations
5. High Performance: from sub-meter to decimeter accuracy

Dual-constellation tracking guarantees higher productivity with more satellites available – in particular in urban canyons and where tree canopy blocks the number of visible GPS satellites.

The new Leica Zeno Field software is an OEM version of ESRI ArcPad 8 and provides - in addition - a full range of functions to easily control the integrated GNSS receiver and to manage the data collection process such as GNSS raw data logging, easy handling of GNSS real-time configurations, feature accuracy management, and an automated workflow between the field and office.

EasyIn - Simplest dataflow between the field and office
With Leica Zeno, Leica introduces EasyIn, the simplest dataflow between the field and office. EasyIn simultaneously checks in features and GNSS raw data, automatically post-processes GNSS observations and updates feature vertices to the most accurate location in one easy, automated step.

Together with Zeno Office users can easily manage feature quality over time and benefit from automated import and export functions to a wide range of different formats such as ArcGIS™ geodatabase, shapefile, dxf, dgn, and dwg. Zeno Office is also available as an extension to ArcGIS Desktop.
Finally an easy mobile GIS solution enters the market.

The new Leica Zeno GIS provides a simple dataflow between field and office. Leica Geosystems offers two rugged GNSS/GIS handhelds Leica Zeno 10 and 15 which are part of the Leica Viva family.
